Version 40.2.15 stable: Fixes

  1. The time picker only allowed 5-minute steps
  2. An EMCC update crashed the client
  3. Audit log paging timed out on month-wide date ranges
  4. A PDF exported to DIPS could contain another journal's content

The time picker only allowed 5-minute steps

  • Ticket: 435672538337, 437225422061 | DevOps: 44384 | Reported by: Helse Nord, Helse Midt-Norge
  • HubSpot Title: Feil ved nøyaktig tid i Trombolyseskjema (STEMI); Journalnotat og Skjema: Ikke lenger mulig å velge 1-minutts intervall
  • Issue: The time picker in Forms (Time and Date+Time elements) and in History of illness only offered minutes in 5-minute steps (0, 5, 10 ... 55). A crew could not record an exact time such as 08:32, for example in the thrombolysis (STEMI) form, and an existing answer off the 5-minute grid opened with no minute highlighted.
  • Root cause: The minute column of the shared time picker was built from multiples of 5 only. The limit was introduced in EWA 37.0 together with the reworked, touch-scrollable picker.
  • Solution: The time picker in the Forms module lists every minute from 0 to 59 again, wrapping from 59 back to 0, and the change applies to both Forms and History of illness. Scrolling the column by touch and by mouse wheel works as before.

Affected components: Client Application (Windows / UWP), Insight Web

An EMCC update crashed the client

  • Ticket: 432680066288 | DevOps: 43473 | Reported by: Helse Sør-Øst
  • HubSpot Title: App-krasj hjertestansregistrering
  • Internal Reference: PT-184
  • Issue: Receiving an EMCC/AMK update on an open mission could crash the UWP client, and the update was lost.
  • Root cause: After fetching the update, the client applied it to the mission from a background thread. The mission's latest update is bound to the Sign and Export button, and touching it off the UI thread throws. The failure was unhandled, so it terminated the process.
  • Solution: The update is applied on the UI thread, and a future failure in this path is observable instead of ending the process.

Affected components: Client Application (Windows / UWP)

Audit log paging timed out on month-wide date ranges

  • Ticket: 430177669317 | DevOps: 41517, 41627
  • HubSpot Title: EWA 40.2.X - heng og feilmeldinger ved søk i brukeraktivitetslogg
  • Issue: Paging through Insight → Audit log over a wide date range, such as a whole month, failed with a gateway timeout.
  • Root cause: Each page request counted the total by loading every matching audit log id into memory.
  • Solution: The total is counted in the database. The returned total is unchanged.

Affected components: Insights API

A PDF exported to DIPS could contain another journal's content

  • Ticket: 423763912939 | DevOps: 40639 | Reported by: Helse Nord
  • HubSpot Title: Eksport av journal til DIPS
  • Issue: A PDF exported to DIPS contained content from a different journal.
  • Root cause: The issue is in the third-party engine that renders journals into PDF files. The journal data itself was correct. The engine process is started once and then reused for every PDF for as long as the service runs. In a rare edge case, it can keep leftover content from one PDF and put it into the next one. We have only seen it once, in the Export Service, which runs for a long time and creates many PDFs one after another. Restarting the service clears it.
  • Solution: In the Export Service, every PDF is now created by its own small process. The process starts, creates that one PDF, and stops, so nothing can carry over from one journal's PDF to the next. As an extra safety check, each PDF gets a start mark and an end mark that are invisible to the reader and carry an ID unique to that PDF. Before sending, the service checks that both marks are there, in the right place, and that the PDF contains no mark from another journal's PDF. Only a PDF that passes the check is sent. Any failure is logged as an error with details, so a problem is easy to find and investigate. When a PDF is rejected: it is not sent. The export is retried as usual, and the service logs an error ("PDF verification failed for render ...") with the violation type and page details, but no document text. When all retries are used, the journal is marked Ignored and an error is logged for it, so a journal that was never exported can be found in the log.

✅ Testing Focus Areas for 40.2.15

🕒 Time picker in Forms and History of illness

  • Open a form with a Time element, open the time picker and confirm the minute column lists every minute from 0 to 59, wrapping from 59 back to 0
  • Repeat on a Date+Time element, and on a time field in History of illness
  • Pick a minute that is not a multiple of 5, for example 7, and confirm the field shows it
  • Reopen the picker on that value and confirm minute 7 is highlighted
  • On a tablet, confirm the minute column can still be scrolled by touch, and on a PC by mouse wheel

⚡ EMCC update crash

  • Send a full AMK simulation from Insight, open the mission in the UWP client, send a new update, and confirm the client keeps running and the update is applied

📜 Audit log

  • Page through Insight → Audit log with a month-wide date range and confirm pages load and the total is correct
