Version 40.2.14 stable: Fixes
Reduced camera resolution on Windows 11 tablets (UWP Gallery)
- Ticket: 419315431656
- DevOps: 39971
- Reported by: Helse Vest
- HubSpot Title: P12275 - Redusert kameraoppløsning for Bliksund EWA på Getac nettbrett
- Internal Reference: P21275
-
Issue: Built-in cameras on Windows 11 tablets captured low‑resolution photos in EWA due to reliance on platform default capture settings.
-
Solution:
- App now explicitly selects camera configuration instead of using default.
- Uses highest available photo resolution (aspect ratio only as tie‑breaker).
- Selects optimal video profile and Full HD preview when supported.
- Falls back safely when exclusive access is not possible.
- Compresses images (JPEG 0.85) to reduce size without lowering resolution.

✅ Testing Focus Areas for 40.2.14 Fix
📷 Camera Resolution & Capture Quality
Validate that built‑in cameras on Windows 11 tablets capture photos at full resolution Compare results with Windows 10 to ensure consistent behavior across OS versions Verify that front and rear cameras both use the highest available resolution Ensure image quality is preserved after JPEG compression (no visible degradation)
🎥 Preview & Aspect Ratio Handling
Confirm preview is set to Full HD (1920×1080 at ~30 fps) when supported Verify fallback to the best available preview mode on unsupported devices Ensure captured photos are not cropped or downscaled due to aspect ratio mismatch Validate consistency between preview and captured image framing
🔐 Camera Access & Stability
Test exclusive camera access works correctly when the camera is not in use Verify fallback to shared mode during active LiveView/video calls without crashes Ensure no regression of issue: app freezing/crashing when taking photos during calls Confirm camera initializes successfully even if some settings are rejected
