Early Appearance on LiveView

When missions involve short transportation phases, such as when the patient is very close to the hospital, or critical patient care, where paramedics prioritize treatment over filling out the mission record, they often appear too late in LiveView. In these cases, personnel do not have time to complete the ambulance journal before arriving at the hospital, resulting in a delay in visibility.

The Early appearance on LiveView feature addresses this issue by ensuring that such missions are displayed in LiveView. Criteria for missions showing up on LiveView is dispatch time set (can be set by Transmobile or other system) and delivery location (can be sent by the Emergency Operations Center (EOC)). There is no need for the amublance worker to start the record in the EWA application on the tablet for early appearance. This improvement enables timely monitoring and response to critical missions, ensuring emergency services can act promptly and avoid missing urgent cases.

Enabling the Feature Flag

The Early appearance on LiveView feature is controlled by a dedicated feature flag, which must be enabled for at least one resource in Insight. If you are setting up LiveView for the first time, ensure that the access rights and LiveView configuration are configured correctly. Then follow these steps to enable the feature flag:

  1. Navigate to the feature activation page by selecting Administration > Features in the main menu in Insight. Insight Administration Menu

  2. Scroll down and select Edit for the feature flag Early appearance on LiveView in the feature activation page. Feature Flag in Insight

  3. By enabling this Early appearance on LiveView feature flag for at least one resource, missions will appear on the LiveView page in Insight. Select the required stations and resources in the tree structure and click Save to enable it. Resource Selection for the Feature

Display of Early Appearance Missions in Selected LiveViews

Missions displayed through the Early appearance on LiveView feature are visually distinguished from regular missions by a slightly greyed-out background, as seen in the first screenshot below. This helps users easily identify missions where a patient will arrive even though the ambulance personel has not started filling out the medical record.

Since the mission record has not been created at this point, details such as estimated time of arrival (ETA), departure time, and clinical measurements are obviously not yet available. However, when clicking on the mission, all available EOC-ticket information are already visible, such as EOC number, urgency status, and the mission ID. This is shown in the second screenshot below, where the detail flyout also includes an indication that the record has not yet been started.
